I signed up for this campaign as soon as it was offered, being sick of my service from Virgin Mobile being so spotty. Love how cheap they are, $35 for unlimited everything, throttled data at 2.5 gb(low for my use). It has been one problem after another though. I couldn't port my VM phone in, because the LG Volt isn't a accepted phone. So I purchased one, an LG G2.
Now, I will admit, almost all of the problems that have occurred are not the fault of TPO. So I received the phone from an amazon seller, turn it on and it says "no sim card". This has me baffled, as sprint phones don't use sim cards. Come to find out, talking with TPO facebook, this particular phone does as it is a world phone. So I talk to the seller and ask them to send me a sim card as it wasn't in the description that it wasn't included, which stated clean phone ready to activate. Well, they said they don't provide them, and I should go to the carrier. This has also been a busy period for me, two jobs two cities one being over night every other night.
I informed TPO facebook about the issue, and they suggested I buy one. I was going to the next day when I would have more time, but a little while later they said they were going to send me one, free of charge! Awesome, TPO fb is great. It arrives a couple days later. I share that with TPO FB, they send me a link to see if the phone can be accepted. and it says no. We are both baffled. I give him my phones info, and he checks into it. Come to find out, the phone doesn't have a clean ESN. How fustrating! Sellers send me another one. It's clean, finally! I
let TPO FB know, and they tell me to then call to activate the phone and port my old number in. I do this, but the lady wasn't very helpful. On the phone for a while, give her all information ESN, credit stuff twice, etc. No go. She asked where I got the sim card, and I said TPO FB sent it to me. She kinda got angry, said that would never happen, and said we would get back with me. Did get a call back from her a couple hours later, she said she would try a different system. No go. So my cards were charged $.20 or so 4 times, though I was told it would be refunded. She said it would be sent to the NY offices. Relayed all this info to TPO FB as they have been so helpful.
During this time TPO FB said they would put even more credit on my account once things start working, which they honestly didn't have to, but they have great customer service and I can tell they care. The next day TPO FB told me to try something , and call in again. I did, and no go again, 2 new charges etc. This call had a nicer agent, very helpful. He did a lot of research on the phone with me, the sim card TPO FB sent wasn't compatible! Ugh, my problems persist. Let TPO FB know, and I get an email from a supervisor. He doesn't have a sim card that is compatible with an LG G2, and wanted me to get my service started.
They offered to send me a samsung galaxy s6 or an apple iphone the newest one, for free! I accept! It arrived Monday later afternoon. I let the supervisor know, he said the next day he would email me when to turn it on, as he wanted to personally make sure all my info was in the system correctly. I turned it on Tuesday afternoon, everything seemed to work well. But I hadn't actually left my house, so I was mistaken. Went to the next city over, and I have no data! I tried messing with all of the phones settings, and nothing helped. I sent him another email last night, and in the morning while I was asleep, he sent one back saying that he checked, there was 1 error, but to reboot the phone and try the data again. I did, this morning after getting up.
And, success!!! I have a fully functioning phone with TPO as a service provider! TPO's FB team has been just absolutely remarkable, going far and above anything they had to do! I will be keeping this service for a long while to come I believe, and am thrilled that part of my bill goes to my favorite charity too! While Virgin Mobile and TPO both are on the sprint network, the phone calls I have made while with TPO are clearer.
