From pureeing a soup right in the cooking pot, to whisking a sauce, to chopping vegetables, the Epica Heavy Duty Hand Blender powers through a multitude of kitchen tasks with the greatest of ease.
I've been researching on hand blenders for a while now. I am a voracious cook, and have relied on hand whisks and food processors for most of my prep work. But with an ever growing family, and little to no time, i can no longer rely just on my hands to whisk/whip something, or use and clean bulky food processors. There is one more reason why you would want a hand blender - that's to blend hot food. Many experienced cooks would have burnt their hands with destroyed food processors/jar blenders by trying to blend hot food. To blend something in the pot without moving it into a processor/jar is by far the greatest advantage of an hand blender.
I recently received 'Epica' 4-in-1 hand blender to review. The first thing i noticed is how well built it feels. Compared to my old Cuisinart and Black & Decker, the 'Epica' feels like a Cadillac among chevys ! It comes with a blending jar with a chopping blade with which i was able to perfectly chop and mince garlic, olives and onions without them turning into puree. The buttons on the blender are solid stainless steel with a very "upscale" feel to it. It also comes with a long jar for storage or blending something into a sauce consistency.
The whisk attachment aligns perfectly and does not yaw while in motion. My waffles were absolutely airy, much better than using your hands. The ergonomics are spot on because you don't need to use both your hands to change the settings or for grip. Fantastic product ! Looks like i'll be making plenty of soups from now on !
Stainless Steel Puree and Whisk Attachments
Count on the Epica's super strong stainless steel to perform reliably without bending, breaking, scratching, rusting, absorbing food odors or being affected by extremes of cold or heat. Another nice feature is the extra length of the puree attachment, so you can plunge it deep into large pots without immersing the motor housing.
2-Cup (500 ml.) Chopping Bowl
The blender converts to a chopper simply by inserting the handle into the bowl lid. The motor in the handle spins the bowl's stainless steel chopping blades to make quick work of onions, garlic and other vegetables, fruits or nuts.
3-Cup (800 ml.) Blending/Storage Jar with Lid
Got a smaller job, such as a smoothie or cocktail, to do? Skip the traditional blender this clear acrylic jar with measurement markings is all you need to portion the ingredients, blend them up, then store the finished mix in the refrigerator. The jar also has a pouring spout in case you want to drink some now and save the rest for later.
350 Watts, 2 Speeds, Variable Speed Control
Get the optimal processing speed for each task with High and Low buttons plus a variable speed dial for fine tuning. With a powerful 350 watt motor, the Epica won't let you down no matter what speed you choose. Ergonomic Handle with Quick Attachment Release. The slim, curved handle helps keep your hand from getting tired. Changing attachments is easy, too: they release at the push of a button. Convenient Cleanup and Storage. All parts and accessories except for the motorized handle are dishwasher safe. The handle can be wiped down with a damp cloth. Once you're done, store the blender and whisk attachment for the next job!
